Good Choice!

“He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life” 1 John 5:12, NASB.

Primrose Sands is a little town in Tasmania, Australia, with great spiritual needs. Many of the people moved there to escape the hectic, demanding lifestyle of the capital city, situated just an hour to the west. Even with the slower pace, many residents still have difficult lives. Depression, broken homes, and a bleak outlook on life are not uncommon.

Recently, a team of Southern Baptist volunteers visited Tasmania for 12 days. Alan was a member of this team. He went to Primrose Sands one evening along with three other Christians. They met with around 20 local youth at the community gym. Most of these young people did not personally know the love of Jesus.

After a few hours of physical activity, Alan found himself surrounded by five young people asking him questions about his life overseas. Alan took this opportunity to share his faith. Over the course of an hour, he clearly shared the plan of salvation and answered questions.

Alan then asked each of the youth if they wanted to ask Jesus into their hearts. All declined except Joshua. His eyes widened as he exclaimed to his friends, "Heaven or hell mates? I choose heaven!" With great boldness, Joshua surrendered his life to Christ right in front of his friends.

Pray that:

Joshua will grow strong in his faith, and that he will faithfully share with his family and friends.

Workers will be encouraged by Joshua’s decision as they have not seen a conversion for a long time.

The people of Primrose Sands will find hope and peace in Jesus Christ.
