Magic Waters

“Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.” Psalm 73:9-10 NIV

An alternative medical foundation in Indonesia organized special events to welcome the Islamic New Year. The objective of the events is to offer people a way to purify themselves from negative physical or spiritual influences by bathing in water that they claim has miraculous powers. This miracle water is said to come from seven different places throughout the country of Indonesia.

The foundation claims that the power of this water will heal you from all sorts of diseases, make your business more profitable, make you more beautiful, help you to find a wife or a husband, give you strength and vitality, and help you to get rid of any bad luck or black magic.

These special events are led by a people who are called "paranormal," what we would call “psychics.” Upon entering this special place, men and women are divided into separate groups and wear special white clothing. They sit in a line, and the leaders of this event pour the special water over each person’s head.

Let us be continually reminded that under a surface of Islam the unreached peoples of Indonesia live daily in fear of evil spirits and perform many rituals to appease these spirits. The people often seek powers from demonic influences, such as going to witch doctors, or dukuns, when they are sick. The pagan ritual of magic water is evidence of this painful reality.

Pray that:

God will set people free from spiritual fear through the perfect love found only in Jesus.

Spiritual forces that blind the peoples of Indonesia will be bound and destroyed.
