A Bad Woman

“And He said to her, ‘Your sins have been forgiven.’” Luke 7:48, NASB.

We encountered Ms. Buum* at the Buddhist temple. She sat next to Rick, Cooky and one of our volunteers on a bench outside the temple. The volunteer asked why she came to the temple. Ms. Buum said, “I am a bad woman. I come to the temple when I am sad.”

It seemed to make her feel better to make offerings. She commented that her husband had left her, taking their daughter the previous year. We shared about the God that loved all of us sinners and how He had provided a way for us to be forgiven and forever have the presence of His living, Holy, Spirit in our soul.

This was amazing news of hope that Ms. Buum had never heard before. She was not ready to make a decision to give her life to Christ, but she was very interested when told that there was a Thai Christian church near her home with people that would eagerly receive her with love. Ms. Buum called us that night to say how glad she was to hear this news and that she wanted to know the people of the church.

We gave her the name and number of the church and they will encourage Ms. Buum to join their family!

*Name changed for the privacy of the local person.

Pray that:

Ms. Buum will find forgiveness in Christ and a new family in the church.

Pacific Rim personnel and volunteers will be faithful to seek the lost and share Good News.

God will lead believers in Thailand to people who are ready to hear the Gospel.
