PRAYER REQUESTS:

Our Purpose: To glorify God by planting reproducing churches where Christ is not known.

Join in the monthly day of prayer and fasting for PacRim people groups. June 5: Minangkabau of Indonesia ; July 3: Red Tai of Vietnam (see specific requests at www.go2pacrim.org.)

Almost 2 million people in Myanmar are homeless, injured or threatened by disease and hunger. Great obstacles are preventing people from receiving the aid they need. Thousands of survivors are without food, clean water and medicine. Ask God to break through the barriers keeping people from receiving help and that God’s love will be showered upon the people of Myanmar in miraculous ways, causing them to see His glory and declaring that He is Lord.

For two years a young woman, Miss K, has had recurring dreams that her people hear about Jesus. In the dream they experience persecution for a little while, and then all of them become believers. Miss K attended a training on evangelism and church planting. Pray that she will be faithful to teach others what she has learned and that she will respond to the vision that God has given her to reach her own people with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

In a last frontier country, hundreds of families were recently left homeless because of a fire on a site slated to become a road. They now have to lie awake at night to protect their few possessions from thieves. Quite of number of communities have been displaced in recent years causing most to be far from places of income. Pray that these displaced people find hope in the One who left His home for them.

While out doing five minute English lessons , Gary met Mr. Yasu, a 37 year old Japanese man who has studied various religions and acknowledges that Christianity seems to be the right one. Pray that he will take the next step of faith and place his trust in Jesus Christ. Pray that he will become a bold witness to his family and friends. (To learn more about this program, watch "What is 5 Minute English?" at http://www.imbtokyo.org/FGT_videosegments_menu.dwt).

Cross-cultural workers usually arrive in their new place of service with many ideas and new methods. They envision themselves being great encouragers of the faith to their partners as they work together spreading the Good News. But most find that before long, they are the ones who are encouraged in the faith. One worker experienced this kind of encouragement recently. A local partner shared that he was facing great opposition from local officials and his decision to stand firm in his faith would result in many penalties. He said, "I am ready to stand firm and not bend to the demands of those officials. If our Father requires it, I am prepared to sacrifice my livelihood, my family, even my life to take this stand." The worker left this man thanking our Father for the encouragement he received from the friend who was facing such a challenge. Please lift up this leader as well as others in similar situations. Ask that they not bend to the demands of those who oppose them but will find the courage to stand firm in the face of great tribulation.

Meeting basic physical needs can open doors for sharing the greatest gift of all. In a last frontier area, a volunteer team provided care for 28 dental and 120 medical patients. Pray for ongoing opportunities to share His love and that the Lord will reveal just where and what to do in the follow-up and new relationships.

Pray that God will provide one special person for each of three college volunteers who will be serving in Japan this June. Pray that the hearts of these three Japanese people will be open to learning about Jesus and that they will respond to His love.

Visa and passport issues are real concerns for many workers. For those facing this need, ask that they would be as salt and light to the officials they meet and that they will find favor in their eyes. Praise God He is always in control and always making a way for His children; ask that they walk in the way He has made, always giving praise.

Centrifuge camp will be held in Korea in mid-June. Last year over 190 middle and high school students enjoyed a week of learning, fun and growing experiences. Some come for social reasons, but quickly discover God’s love and learn how they can know Him personally. For those who are believers it is a great week to grow and be changed. Pray for the eight U.S. Centrifuge staff to discern His plans and will for each day’s activities. Ask God to prepare the hearts of each youth to know Him in a deep personal way and to experience life changes during this week.

Local leaders have an interest in sharing stories from the Book with visitors from a neighboring last frontier country. They have begun meeting and learning the method of chronological story sharing. They are excited about using this type of teaching with their visitors and have several opportunities to share them each month. Join the workers in praying that the opportunities will be many and the leaders will be diligent in their study and in sharing the stories. Remember those that hear the stories, asking that their hearts will be open and receptive to the truth of these stories.

Believing young people often face great challenges when it is time to marry. With very few believers for potential mates among their own culture, they are pressured by their families and culture to wed people they do not desire to marry. This can lead to compromising situations for them. The need for growing believing families is great. Please pray for several young people facing this challenge right now to have wisdom, faith and discernment to trust Him to provide the right mate.

Pray that the Lord will break thru the spiritual darkness in Australia. Pray specifically for the many young people that are getting caught up in the binge drinking lifestyle that is the ‘expected’ rite of passage into adulthood and is therefore glorified in the young adult culture. Pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to create in the empty lives and hearts of the young adults of Australia a hunger to find and truly know God.

In a village recently, a ceremony was held behind a house to appease the "spirits" for "healing" a lady. Believers nearby prayed fervently because of the ongoing spiritual conflict. That day one woman prayed to receive the Lord. Pray for this woman to be strong and courageous, as she will face challenges as a light in a dark village.

Three new house groups have been started in an area of Quezon province in the Philippines where Baptists have never had any work. Two other house groups have baptized new believers recently and are excited with the church growth. Pray for thousands to come to faith as believers share His love and Good News in Quezon province.
