Yellow Signs

“‘How great are His signs, And how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion is from generation to generation.’” Daniel 4:3, NASB.

Believers in Thailand received funding from believers in Japan to post yellow signs all over the country. Even in remote villages you will often find these signs posted on trees and homes. The signs had a variety of sayings such as, “Jesus saves!” or “Jesus triumphed over death.”

Uncle Green had become a follower of Jesus, but he was afraid to be baptized. Whenever he was asked about baptism he’d say, “Perhaps later, or somewhere far away so my neighbors won’t see me.”

The funny thing about Uncle Green’s concern about his neighbors finding him out was his home decorating. He hung two of the yellow signs up for everyone to see. One sign read, “Jesus the Judge of the world.” The other sign proclaimed, “Only Jesus forgives.” With such bold proclamations on his home, it would not likely shock any of his neighbors for Uncle Green to be baptized!

It took him several months, but Uncle Green did follow up on his decision to believe in Christ with baptism. He still proudly displays the yellow signs on his home for all to see!

Pray that:

Uncle Green will grow in his walk with Christ and be a bold witness in his community.

New believers in Thailand will have the courage to be baptized as a testimony to their families, friends and communities.

Partnerships, like the one between Japanese and Thai believers, will become more common in the Pacific Rim.
