Ask and You Shall Receive
“This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:12, NIV. When I learned that there would be special training in another city to teach people how to share the Gospel in a contextual way, I immediately thought it would be wonderful if the students from our Bible study could attend. However, I knew that most of them would not be able to afford the cost of the trip. As I lay in my bed that night, I asked God to make it clear whether or not I should take them. The very next day I received an e-mail from my parents saying that they had received a monetary gift from an anonymous person that was to be used for our work here. I knew that God had answered my prayers by providentially leading some unnamed person to give the money so these students could attend the training. Amazing! At the next Bible study I talked to the students about it, but they were not quick to commit. I trusted that God would work it all out, and He did. Six students attended the training. Because of the monetary gift, the students didn’t have to worry about the cost of the training and we were able to have a little “extra fun” together in the big city! *Excerpt from the newsletter of a Last Frontier worker in the Pacific Rim. Pray that: God will give these students a burden to use what they learned to share the Gospel with many people. These students will be able to pass on what they learned to other believers, who in turn will become bolder and more effective witnesses. Pacific Rim workers will have spiritual wisdom to make the connections between their prayers and the providential provisions that God sends in response.
