Just Saved

“And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” Acts 5:42, NASB.

In the first part of 2007, we had a team of volunteers come from Mississippi to assist us in distributing portions of the Scriptures to many neighborhoods in Hiroshima.  In just four days, these volunteers passed out literature to 11,000 homes! On top of all of this, we are grateful for the impact they had on the Japanese with whom they spent time eating, sightseeing, chatting, bowling and going to karaoke with. Three friends in particular, Eri, Shin and Hi, were especially touched by the warmth of our new friends from Mississippi.

Out of the hard work of these volunteers we made contact with a man named Mr. Naka. Mr. Naka accepted Jesus as his Savior as a 7-year-old. Unfortunately he has not been taught much other than the Gospel in respect to Christianity in the 50 years since his salvation experience. He seems eager to learn, but like most Japanese men, he is very busy. He only has one afternoon off a week, so he does not have much time to meet us

*Excerpt from the newsletter of Pacific Rim personnel serving in Japan.

Pray that:

The scripture delivered to all those Japanese homes will begin to bear eternal fruit as Japanese encounter the Word of God.

Eri, Shin and Hi will continue to make progress in their journey towards faith in Christ.

Mr. Naka, and other Japanese like him, will find believers to teach them what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
