Me and My Kids

“The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.” Romans 8:19, NIV.

Kun Sa is a lead worker in the goat project on a teaching farm and rural development center just outside of Nan, Thailand. This 26-year-old Isaan woman is responsible for 80 goats and has been working in the program for the past four years. “I think goats are a gift from God,” said Sa. You can see the love she has for her kids by the way she handles them.

Another passion that Sa has is telling others about the wonderful love of Jesus. “When farmers come in for training, we do our best to share the Gospel with them,” said Sa. “We give them tracts and tell them our testimonies, but it is hard to share effectively without first having a relationship.”

There are several families who live near the farm with which Sa has a relationship, and even then the process of witnessing is slow. “I share in the context of doing things with them,” said Sa. “A friend may talk about being tired from hard work, and I’ll talk about sin coming into the world. We might see a beautiful flower or sunset, and I’ll talk about God’s wonderful creation.”

At times friends might ask questions about being Christian, and Sa will answer their questions, but then go back to living and working alongside them. 

“When I think of my own journey to faith, it does not surprise me that response is slow,” said Sa. “Many Thai people have pressing troubles like alcoholism, no jobs, little food, or no education. The questions of religion don’t seem as pressing to them. But I also know that Jesus is the answer they need for a better life. God will meet their needs if they will only trust Him.”

So Sa continues to patiently sow the Gospel and live her faith before her friends. She knows that in time a harvest of souls will come if she doesn’t lose heart.

Pray that:

Many farmers will hear and respond to the Gospel in Northern Thailand through the rural development center.

Sa’s friends will come to faith.

Sa and other Christian workers in Northern Thailand will not lose heart in sharing the Gospel but will persevere until the harvest comes.
