Growing and Sharing

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15, NKJV.

Tony* is Chinese, and a follower of Jesus. When his father died, we were invited to his funeral. A large Styrofoam mansion, paper Mercedes, satellite dish, and piles of paper money were cremated with the body in the belief that these things will provide for the deceased in the afterlife. Tony, however, has chosen to place his trust completely in Christ for his provision while he lives and after he dies.

Since Tony made his commitment to Jesus, he has made steady growth in his spiritual walk. He has responded obediently to the call to share the Gospel with all his neighbors, including those from a Muslim background. This is unusual in our city because of the racial, political and religious barriers that exist between Muslims and Chinese. Tony’s obedience has been a sweet source of encouragement to us.

Pray that:

More Chinese believers like Tony will be obedient to share the Gospel with their Muslim neighbors.

God will pull down the fear of ethnic and religious barriers that keep His children from being obedient to the Great Commission.

God will prepare the hearts of Tony’s Muslim neighbors to hear and receive the Gospel.
