Healing Confirmation
Testimony of Brooke Brandon, a Journeyman serving in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

“God will bless us, and all the ends of the earth will fear him.” Psalm 67:7, NIV.

Growing up I had participated in several student exchange programs. These experiences gave me a great love for people from different cultures. My dad is a pastor, and through growing up at church God gave me a great passion for sharing the Gospel. In college I studied special education and became burdened for helping children with challenges. When I went to a Journeyman conference, God confirmed to me that He wanted me to go serve Him in a foreign land.

Just before I was supposed to go to Thailand, a doctor discovered that I had tumors that needed to be operated on. I was so sure that God wanted me to go to Thailand, but now I was facing surgery. I was so confused, but I knew God was in control. Many people began to pray for me.

I went to the hospital for surgery. When I woke up from the general anesthetic the doctor told me that when they looked for the tumor with the scope it had disappeared! He said, “I don’t know what happened, but there are no more tumors.”

The doctor may not have understood, but I knew what happened. God answered the prayers of His people and confirmed to me that He still wanted to use my love of Him, different people, and special needs children as a Journeyman in Thailand.

For the past year I have taught in the special needs department of Grace International School in Chiang Mai. I’ve helped many families with special needs children, and have even seen a couple of my students come to know the LORD.

While I was in Thailand, a screening showed that I might have cancer. My parents were beside themselves. They loved me, and it was hard for them to have me over here facing the possibility of cancer while they are back in the U.S. They wanted me to be sent home.

God gave me a peace about staying. It turned out that my cells were pre-cancerous. I have no regrets about coming. God has met my every need, and given me incredible opportunities to join Him on mission. My healing and peace in the midst of turmoil is a strong witness to me that God is in control.

God will grant peace to the families of missionaries facing medical problems on the field.

God will grant peace and healing to missionaries facing medical problems on the field.

Christians in the Pacific Rim will come to experience that, despite their problems, God is in control.
