Dying Breath

“But to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing; so that also at the revelation of His glory, you may rejoice with exultation.” 1 Peter 4:13, NASB.

Nawala* was married, 27 years old, and lost. Cancer had spread throughout his body and he was in ICU. When a Christian doctor made his rounds, he was stunned to see this man. He was a neighbor that the doctor had just recently met. The doctor called all his friends to pray for Nawala.

Some of those friends were Pacific Rim workers. Our workers prayed for a miracle. They prayed for God to supernaturally reveal Himself to Nawala. They pleaded for salvation for this man and his family. After praying these things for several days, Nawala died. There was no apparent response to all the prayers.

Daisy was discouraged, but her young son, Tyler, said, “Mom, we just prayed and the LORD could have shown Himself to Nawala before he died.” Daisy hugged her son and thanked God for this reminder. In answer to prayer God may have intervened in Nawala’s life at his dying breath.

Yet Daisy was reminded that there are over a million people like Nawala who still need to see Jesus.

*Names changed for security reasons.

Pray that:

This Christian doctor will have wisdom to share hope with Nawala’s widow and her children.

God will send dreams and visions of Jesus to Nawala’s people group, along with Christians to share the Gospel.

Pacific Rim workers will not lose heart in praying and sharing with the lost and equipping local partners to reach the unreached before their dying breath.
