Blind Leading the Blind

“Jesus said to them, ‘If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, “We see” your sin remains.’” John 9:41, NASB.

Mr. B san’s* losses were great. A silent and dark world engulfed him after his diabetes led to his loss of hearing and vision. To make matters worse, his wife left him. Anger and bitterness engulfed his soul until he met a Christian who came to work with him as a guide for the blind and deaf. Mr. B san learned about a God who loved him, and that love pierced the darkness of his life and gave him hope.

That was three years ago. Today, Mr. B san enjoys Bible study and sharing with others about the hope he has found in Jesus. He recently got a new guide named Naomi. Naomi is not yet a believer, but Mr. B san is already praying for her and planting seeds of faith. Can it be that the physically blind Mr. B san will lead the spiritually blind Naomi to faith in Christ?

The percentage of deaf/blind Christians is higher than other groups in Japan because of the intense relationships between them and their guides, many of whom are Christians.

*Names changed for privacy.

Pray that:

Christian guides will continue to be faithful witnesses to those Japanese they are called to lead.

Deaf/blind Japanese Christians will be a great light to those who claim to see and hear so they may come to know Jesus.

Mr. B san will continue to experience the peace and joy that comes from a living relationship with the Savior.
