Peace Man
“‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.’” John 16:33, NASB. On Christmas day, we went to a modest-sized rural town to speak at an evening service for the tribal people group that we work with. This particular ministry is continuing to grow. There were 55-60 people in attendance. Some of these are still seeking the Lord and learning what Christianity is all about. Yet, this number in attendance at a worship service would have been unimaginable just four years ago. The front-line evangelist for this area is continuing to enter new villages, and his reputation is spreading. He is now called the “Peace Man,” because the shy tribal people see him as one who is bringing peace and help to them. This is an important reputation for someone who is trying to reach a people group who highly value peace with a message from the Prince of Peace. *Excerpt from the newsletter of a Pacific Rim worker. Pray that: The Prince of Peace will continue to open villages for the local evangelist. The seekers at this worship service will become followers of Jesus. The Gospel will rapidly spread throughout the 19 tribal groups in this unreached cluster of people. Pacific Rim is a region of the International Mission Board, SBC.
