In Need of a Savior
“All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Romans 3:12, NIV. As Mr. Hara* and his family read the Bible with a missionary family, the Holy Spirit spoke to his heart. “Until I read this, I did not understand what sin was,” said Mr. Hara. “I understand now that I am a sinner.” Mr. Hara’s daughter is a Christian, and she has told him about Jesus. She has told him that Jesus has forgiven her of her sins. Even Mr. Hara’s granddaughter has told him about Jesus. Recently Mr. Hara had surgery. He is recovering nicely. Again, his daughter, granddaughter, and the missionaries have told him that they have been praying for him to get well from his surgery. Even though he has received a consistent, loving witness, Mr. Hara has yet to trust Jesus as his Savior. *The local person’s name has been changed for his privacy. Pray that: Mr. Hara will believe that as a sinner he needs a savior, and that Savior is Jesus Christ alone. Mr. Hara’s physical health will be restored, and he will see his recovery as a direct answer to prayer. When Mr. Hara comes to faith, his wife and other daughter will follow his example. Pacific Rim is a region of the International Mission Boards, SBC.
