Surgery for the Heart

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26, NIV.

When Nori* had surgery in a hospital far from her home, her mother and sister came to be with her. Nori and her sister had been praying for their mother to become a believer in Christ, but she showed very little interest. However, before Nori’s surgery, she saw many of Nori’s Christian friends come and pray with her. She also saw many of them continue to care for Nori after the surgery.

These same friends showed real kindness to Nori’s mother. Now Nori’s mother is reading the Bible and has shown a growing interest in finding the truth. Nori’s surgery was a success by medical standards, but it was also a success in the heavenly realm!

Pray that:

Nori’s mother will become a believer and lead her husband, son, and brother, who is a Buddhist priest, to saving faith in Jesus.

Nori’s future surgeries (she will have to undergo several surgeries for her condition) will also lead to opportunities to witness to others.

Nori will sense the Savior’s presence during her future surgeries.
