Turning Point

“‘He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38, NKJV.

Two missionaries regularly play basketball with some young women at a local gym in Osaka to build relationships. One woman they met at the gym had recently undergone cancer surgery. Before the surgery she had to quit her job. She confided to her new Christian friends that this crisis feels like a turning point in her life.

She believed that her cancer may have happened to force her to rest and evaluate what's really important in her life. Perhaps the job she had wasn’t what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She still isn’t looking at the situation from a spiritual perspective, but she was open to Christians praying with her. Perhaps she’s right. Perhaps she’s coming to an eternal turning point!

Pray that:

God would give this young woman a restless spirit that leads her to Jesus, the source of living water and eternal life.

This encounter with cancer will be a spiritual turning point where she sees her NEED for Jesus and places her faith in Him!

This will be the beginning of a movement of the Holy Spirit throughout the basketball players at this gymnasium to bring many of them to faith in Christ.
