Join us in a special day of prayer and fasting for the Chavacano of the Philippines on Thursday, July 5. For more information see special requests under monthly prayer focus at www.go2pacrim.org.

Recent medical clinics held in four communities allowed over 700 people to receive medical and/or dental care. In the same way these communities are isolated from medical care, they are also isolated from understanding His message. The clinics provided much needed medical care but also opportunity to witness God’s love firsthand through the workers. Pray for the continued medical efforts to introduce them to the Great Physician. Pray that God will give courage and wisdom to His children who are seeking to make Him known in these places.

Judges 1:24 says, "Show us how to get into the city." Pray for the Tokyo Metro Community (TMC), a unique cooperative church-planting endeavor with young white-collar workers in countless business and government offices of central Tokyo, the epicenter for finance, media, the arts, education and government for Japan. The population of the greater Tokyo area is about 32 million and many of them work downtown. Pray for lay leaders who are focused on sharing the good news in downtown Tokyo. Ask God to transform the hearts of Japanese and for multiple church starts to be realized in the next year.

Major efforts to "re-educate" the populace are underway by the majority religious leaders of a last frontier country. The external pressure for residents to conform is growing stronger, and those who follow Christ are fearful and facing persecution. Because the economy usually prospers as a result of the efforts of these leaders, easy access is often granted them. Yet the reality is that Christ’s love always makes a difference and draws people to the Truth. There is a need for His love to be accompanied with a proclamation of the Good News. Pray that His love will be seen and experienced by many who will be open to hearing and believing the Truth.

Many volunteers will be coming to PacRim this summer to assist in various ministries such as participating in English camps, assisting in annual meetings, building relationships on college campuses, working with village children, conducting street evangelism, teaching English to hotel staff, and much more. Pray for safety and good health as they travel. Ask that they will be used in mighty ways and will be deeply encouraged and blessed as they serve in His power. Pray for strong relationships with those supervising them and for new friends among our PacRim peoples.

Prisoners had been open, enthusiastic and interested in the lessons shared by a worker. The prison official decided to cancel the weekly class saying the adult education classes and work duty would no longer allow time for this. The worker was so disappointed. Pray that the Lord will re-open a door into the prison in His timing and in His way. Pray that the seeds already planted will take deep root and will bring forth much fruit.

Ms. P heard about Him some time ago and felt that He was the true way for her. She recently heard a story about another national in a situation similar to hers. After hearing this woman’s testimony, she knew that she should give her whole heart to the Lord. Pray for her as she starts her new walk with the Lord. Pray that other believers will come alongside her and encourage her.

One key to reaching men in the Philippines is for wives to be godly examples to their families. Pray for Esther in her new walk with the Lord and ask that she will be "salt and light" to her husband, teenage sons, and younger children.

Disappointment has come in various forms in Japan. The police banned workers from sharing the gospel through a free five-minute English lesson on the street near Shibuya Station. Normally workers speak with more than one hundred people in just two hours. Another neighborhood association vice chairman questioned workers about their desire to share a Bible story in Japanese. One case of measles and fear of more cases led to one university’s closure during the scheduled visit of a volunteer team. Pray that the Lord will reopen these doors of ministry and witness. Pray that workers will press on to victory through His strength and power.

As the school year has ended, pray for TCKs who graduated from high school and college. Ask for His peace for parents and graduates in the numerous transitions and decisions they face. Pray for clear discernment for the future as students face new schools, friends, teachers, jobs and challenges. Pray that God’s purposes will be accomplished in each life.

New Bible studies are beginning among the Agta people in the Philippines. Safety in the mountains is a major concern. Pray for wisdom for the workers to know where to go first and pray that they can communicate clearly to eager hearts. Pray for good health as the family travels to remote locations and builds relationships with the Agta.

"All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your Name." Psalm 86:9
