Migraine Miracle

“Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you.” Mark 11:24, NASB.

The pain was debilitating. The migraine headaches came frequently, and whenever they came I was flat on my back for the rest of the day. I remembered taking as many as four pain pills in an hour, and still the pain was horrible. I had seen medical professionals, but they had offered little hope. The doctors just wrote out prescriptions for more pain medication.

One evening I sat in a pew listening to another sermon. A guest speaker offered to pray for those who were sick. I thought he was going to ask us to come forward, and to be honest I was skeptical. Instead, he said, “Put your hand on the place that is hurting. If your leg is hurting, then put your hand on your leg. If your shoulder is hurting, put your hand on your shoulder. Pray to God. Confess any known sin, and ask Him to heal you.”

I was still skeptical, but I sensed the Spirit prompting me to do as the speaker asked. I placed my hand on my head and prayed. As I was praying I heard a voice, “Your servant’s head is hurting. Please hear your servant and heal his head tonight.” I had to look to see if someone was there, and it was the speaker. I thought, whoa, how did he know my head was hurting? I hadn’t told him about the migraines. Then I realized that he saw me put my hand on my head. Still, I was touched by his simple prayer for me.

Two weeks passed, and I didn’t have any migraines. I was afraid to share about the healing for fear that the headaches would return. And they did. However, when the headaches came I placed my hand on my head and asked for healing. God answered every time! After a few months of occasional migraines followed by God responding to my prayer the headaches stopped completely. It has now been twenty years since my last migraine.

I did not have great faith, but I had a little faith. When I responded to God’s prompting, it pleased Him to increase my faith by His act of healing in my life. God wants us to see His miracles, because that is one of the ways that He grows our faith.

Pray that:

Believers in the Pacific Rim will be obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Christians will grow as they see God responding to their small acts of faith.

When God does signs and wonders that His children will give Him the glory and share the Gospel so that the lost may see and believe in the LORD, Jesus Christ.
