Bear in a Tree

"My eyes will flow unceasingly, without relief, until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees." Lamentations 3:49-50 NIV

Walking through the wasteland of foundations and debris that was once a residential area, Jeanne saw a teddy bear caught in a tree.

"I was touched by seeing that bear out on the limb of a tree," said Jeanne. "These people just had their world turned upside down, and I couldn't help but think that bear belonged to some little boy or girl whose family and home was likely swept away in an instant."

Pray that:

In the midst of massive destruction volunteers would not lose sight of God’s love for the people of Northern Sumatra and lose heart at their smallness in the face of such a huge task of rebuilding.

God would give volunteers reminders like the bear so they will remember that their work is about restoring people not just doing a task.
