Couldn’t Hand Them Out Fast Enough
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12, NKJV. Every year there is a convergence of our people group at the airport in the capital city. While many of the people are too poor to participate, entire villages turn out to see those few lucky pilgrims who receive scholarships to attend the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Last year around 2,000 had gathered at the airport, so this year we came prepared with 3,300 Gospel booklets to give out. Our entire family, with the exception of the baby, worked at distributing the booklets. The turnout was beyond our highest expectation. Vans and buses three rows deep lined the roads outside the airport. We estimated that over 6,000 of our people from every province in the country were there at the airport this year! A few people shouted “Don’t take those, those are Christian books!” or “That book is of another religion!” But it seemed like even more people came to take the booklets after such protests were made. The demand was so great that we had some of the local people help us distribute the material, which they seemed happy to do. Within half an hour, all the Gospel booklets were taken. What a privilege to be part of giving God’s word to people who are so hungry to receive it. *Excerpt from the newsletter of a Last Frontier worker serving in the Pacific Rim. Pray that: The Gospel booklets will find fertile soil in villages all over the country. People of good will find these booklets and come to faith in the LORD, Jesus Christ. New believers will group together and be discipled to reach out to others with the same Good News. Pacific Rim is a region of the International Mission Board, SBC.
