Faithful to My Children
“He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations.” Psalm 105:8 NAS. While Amy* has spent a lot of time investing in the lives of the children of her village, she is most grateful about the changes she sees God making in her own three children. “As they have seen my life change and their father’s life change, it has opened them up to following God,” said Amy. At first the children were resistant to participating in family devotions and having personal quiet times, but that has changed. They look forward to these times, and they are changing the way they live based on what they read in God’s word. Alan is Amy’s nine-year-old son. A group of friends told Alan not to go to a particular place near a certain tree, because there was a dark spirit that lived there. Amy overheard Alan telling his friends, “No, I can go there because Jesus says not to be afraid.” When Amy thinks of all the promises of God that she has claimed for her children she is most grateful for Luke 11:9. She has prayed that her children would knock on God’s door and seek after Him. Now she is seeing God open the doors for them, and they are finding Him! “There is no greater blessing than to see God being faithful to your children,” said Amy. *Names changed for security reasons. Pray that: God will draw all three of Amy’s children to saving faith and that they will all be used by God to start a church planting movement among Amy’s people. Amy’s faith will grow as she continues to see God be faithful to His promises that she claims in prayer. God will save and call many moms among Amy’s people to be prayer warriors for their children.
