God’s Gift

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23, NKJV.

When entering a new village among a proud Muslim minority group, believers often encounter hostile questions. These people are used to being shot at, blown up, and attacked. They are used to hatred and prejudice, but offers of kindness and help are foreign to them. Normally the help they get comes from whatever they can steal.

Raymond* recalled one man in particular. He was in his fifties with a wiry build. He wore faded army fatigues and had a dirty and slightly torn t-shirt. As soon as Raymond set foot in the village, this man approached him and fired a series of questions at him like an artillery barrage. “Who are you? What are you doing? What do you want? Why are you here?”

After the man finally paused a moment, Raymond responded, “I’m here to see what the needs are in this village and to see if we can provide any help.”

The man smiled, revealing a couple of missing teeth. He slapped Raymond on the shoulder and shouted to the gathering crowd of villagers, “This man is a gift from God!” He then escorted Raymond all over the village introducing him to people, and a great deal of good was accomplished as God led Raymond to this man of goodwill.

*Names changed for security.

Pray that:

Believers entering new villages will be led to people of goodwill.

This Muslim people group will receive God’s truest gift of His Son leading to their salvation.

God will pull down barriers of prejudice and hatred so these people will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
