Unchained

“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God's word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.” 2 Timothy 2:8-10, NIV.

Kai is a 27-year-old believer who came to Christ from a Chinese Buddhist background. Her goal is to be a church planter in a neighboring country. Currently she is studying at a seminary in Bangkok.

She clearly remembers the first time God showed her that she was to proclaim His Gospel to all people. She was on a mission trip to Chiang Mai and was visiting a men’s prison for drug addicts. She felt so burdened that these men needed to know Christ, but as a woman, she was fearful of standing before them to share. God gave her a vision of the prisoner’s chain.

With that vision in mind, she found a chain to use and got up before the men. She shared from Philippians about Paul being in chains for the sake of Christ. Yet even in prison, Paul was free because he was in Christ. She lifted the chain for the men to see. Then she said, “Many of you are in the prison of addiction, but the same Christ who set Paul free can give you freedom as well.”

To Kai’s amazement God used her message to touch the hearts of several prisoners. She realized that her availability to God could overcome many barriers and that God would bless His Gospel if she would just be faithful to proclaim it.

Pray that:

Kai will continue to boldly proclaim the Gospel and that God will use her to plant churches wherever He leads her.

Many believers in Thailand will learn the truth that God will pull down the barriers if they will faithfully proclaim His Gospel.
