Forgot to Pray!

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6, NAS.

Dr. John* has dedicated his life to using his healing skills as a doctor to share the spiritually healing message of the Gospel with the unreached peoples around him. The staff with whom he works are not all believers, but they know that Dr. John does not eat, examine a patient, or start a surgery without praying first.

One day Dr. John was in a hurry and didn’t pray. He was doing a routine surgery on an orphan. The boy developed internal bleeding and he couldn’t locate the source. His Muslim nurse commented to Dr. John, “Doctor, you forgot to pray.”

He paused and prayed, and shortly afterward, he was able to find the cause of the bleeding. After the surgery Dr. John thanked God that his habit of prayer had made such an impact on his nurse.

*Names changed for security reasons.

Pray that:

Believers will not become so busy that they forget to pray but will cover everything they do in believing, persistent prayer.

The people Dr. John serves will clearly see Jesus reflected in how he lives and will want to follow the God to whom Dr. John has dedicated his life.
