During Ramadan (September 24 - October 23) many new believers, often young in faith and the only followers of Christ in their families, faced the desperate decision of whether to participate in the required fast, to be bold, or to give in to fear. As these believers face threats and insults at times, pray that they will continue to know the peace of God and His deliverance and guidance as they shine with His light and love in their homes, villages, and communities.
A Filipino pastor, wife and two sons recently began a new work among Filipino workers in Daejon City, Korea. Pray that God will meet their needs for cultural adjustments, friends, and contacts to form relationships with these overseas workers.
A team of local partners among an unreached people group mapped out an area and prepared a prayerwalk by themselves. As they enter a new area and train others in prayerwalking, ask God to provide the transportation, good health, insights and participants who will continue to carry the good news to the lost.
Pray that Mr. K., Mr. T., Mr. M, and others who are being mentored as Japanese lay leaders, will multiply leaders by doing the same with other men. Pray for lives that reflect the Lord in everything they do so that countless unbelievers living and working around them will be drawn to Christ.
Many Japanese face terrible addictions as they try to cope with life’s pressures without Christ. Two workers facilitate "Celebrate Recovery" groups in Tokyo, reaching out to those hurting from past mistakes by sharing God’s love and His purpose for their lives. Pray for those participating in Celebrate Recovery to find true freedom in Christ.
A potential new local leader shared that he had been frail, weak, and small all of his life and was teased by many. He even contemplated suicide when he was younger. He visited a place of worship fulfilling his religious duties, yet the feelings of guilt could not be lifted. Whatever he did seemed to have sin mixed with it, even his prayer times. His experience of not being able to escape his sins was just like the story he heard from the workers. He received the truth and has been set free. He shared that many people he knows would like to hear this good news of salvation from sin. He intends to go and tell them. Pray for this new believer and many others like him to be passionate, obedient and faithful to share the Good News.
Pray for Mrs. Sai, a Japanese lady, who met a Christian through the house church network on the internet and expressed her desire to follow the Lord in baptism. Pray that she will understand the message of the gospel and truly accept Christ as her Savior.
Ask for wisdom for the leader of a large unreached people group and those who relate to him as well as for the international community. Autumn is drawing near, and winter is not far behind. For those with limited resources, this time of year provides special needs. Ask the Provider to meet the physical and spiritual needs of these people. Knowing that our Father is full of love and desires that all know Him, ask that there will be opportunities to share His love with a people who know very little about love.
Please continue to pray for guest factory workers, Mr. K and five T people group ladies in a Southeast Asian country, as they translate 31 stories from the V language into their heart language for evangelistic use. Pray that the Spirit will guide the translation process, giving wisdom, accuracy and a sense of urgency to the translators as well as complete reliance upon Him.
