Tearing Up the Card

“And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.” Matthew 19:2, NAS.

Kalima attended church without her father’s knowledge or consent. Her father was a Hindu temple official. When her ovary became twisted, she was told that she needed surgery. She set the surgery date and made an appointment with the government doctor.

During worship services she sat praying as the pastor prayed from the pulpit. As she prayed, she felt a hand reach inside her, and she felt something turn over. . She got up and started jumping up and down. She told the church that she felt a hand reach inside her and heal her.

Her pastor told her to go see the doctor and get it checked out. She saw the government doctor a few days later. The doctor checked her, and then looked puzzled. He said, “I don’t know what happened, but your ovary isn’t twisted any more.”

Kalima beamed. She said, “Jesus healed me three days ago.” She then took the card that showed her surgery date and tore it into little pieces. “I won’t need that anymore!”

After Kalima’s healing, her father became more open to visit with her pastor. He had a wound that would not heal. The doctor told him that his diabetes was out of control and they would likely have to amputate. Every day the pastor came and visited Kalima’s father. He cleaned his wound and prayed over it. When he went back to be checked the doctor was shocked. “What happened to this wound?” asked the doctor. The father didn’t say anything, but he knew it was Jesus who had healed him.

He put his faith in Jesus, but he is still not public about his faith because of his former position in the Hindu temple.

Pray that:

God will give boldness to this former temple official so that many people in the Hindu community will see the difference that Christ has made in his life.

God will display His power among the Hindu community so that many Hindus will hear and respond to the Gospel.
