What if…
“Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34, NAS. One Last Frontier missionary sat with a group of local believers in an area known for its extremist groups. The possibility of violence and kidnappings were discussed. A local man stood up. He said, “We need to just go, because the things we fear often never happen. Besides, I’d rather be taken away for sharing Jesus than for sitting fearfully in a house praying.” The rest agreed and they have gone out into the community to share the Gospel. So far none of their fears have materialized, and three groups of new believers have formed as a result of their witness in the community. Two key leaders have come to faith and are being trained. What if that man hadn’t stood up against the fears of the enemy that tempt us to hide and not be bold? It seems the being bold “what if” had more eternal consequence than any of the other “what ifs” that were discussed! Pray that: Believers in hard places will have boldness and courage to proclaim the Gospel. God will go before His ambassadors to prepare hearts to receive the Gospel. The three groups and two new leaders will mature in faith and rapidly multiply to reach their people group. Pacific Rim is a region of the International Mission Board, SBC.
