Unlikely Source

“For it is Thou who dost bless the righteous man, O LORD, Thou dost surround him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12, NAS.

One Pacific Rim tribal group still has a distinct tribal language. A Christian worker with a burden for the tribes had heard that a dictionary had been printed, but he couldn’t find a copy. When he finally got a copy, it came from a quite unexpected source.

A tribal girl came to faith through the witness of a believer visiting her village. She grew in the Lord and in knowledge. Her intelligence began to open up opportunities for further education. She did so well in school that the government offered her an internship in the government office that related to the tribal peoples.

The government had several copies of the dictionary for their field personnel. After making some inquiries, the girl was able to secure a copy of the dictionary to her Christian mentor. The government is certainly not looking to further the Christian gospel, but it goes to show that God can make use of any authority to further His work!

Pray that:

God will grant favor for tribal believers with the government.

Fear of persecution will not keep tribal people from receiving the gospel.
