Inconvenience or Divine Appointment?

“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6, NIV.

When Johnny’s* pickup truck tire picked up a nail or screw from the streets of Phnom Penh, Cambodia he saw it as an opportunity to pass out scripture portions at the garage. The workers received the booklets gladly, but the owner saw what Johnny was doing.

He burst into the garage from the office and gruffly said, “What are you giving out?”

Johnny offered the man a scripture portion. He said, “These are true stories that I think are helpful for living a good life.”

“Are they Christian?” the owner asked.

“Yes,” said Johnny simply.

“Oh, my friend is Christian. Go ahead and give out your booklets!” said the owner.

Johnny not only distributed scripture portions to all the workers, he got a Bible in Khmer from his truck and gave it to the owner, who received it gladly.

*Names changed for security.

Pray that:

Believers in Cambodia will make the most of every opportunity to share God’s word.

The gospel seed planted in the lives of the owner and employees at the garage will find good, receptive soil to grow in.
