He Humbles the Proud

“Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor.” Proverbs 18:12, NIV.

At a training session about the Lordship of Christ, a professor stood up with tears in his eyes. He said, “When I visited very poor Christians recently, I saw how they enjoyed the presence of God in a way I had never even considered. It humbled me. I thought they were poor and ignorant, yet they had a wealth of faith that I never even knew was possible.” 

In response to his revelation, the professor left his comfortable teaching position.  Through the training session the Lord continued to work in his heart.  When asked what he intended to do he said, “I’m going to do the ‘good works that God has prepared in advance’ for me to do.”

Pray that:

The Holy Spirit will continue to humble the proud and turn them into useful servants ready for the Master’s service.

The truth of God’s Word will continue to challenge and transform lives in the Pacific Rim.
