He Can Do Magic!

“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13, NIV.

Cambodian villagers of all ages watched with amazement as Donny Lee, Missions and Outreach Pastor from Brookwood Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, juggled scarves and balls and did magic tricks. Donny showed that the hand is quicker than the eye and that the love of Jesus is greater than the barriers of culture and language.

While Donny shared the love of Jesus through a magic show, the rest of the volunteer team from his church shared through a free medical clinic. Over 80 patients where seen in just one afternoon. All of the patients are invited to a spiritual truth station after treatment is given. It is explained that the spiritual truth station is not required to get medical help. Those who were interested stay to hear Bible stories that lead up to sharing the gospel. Twenty three people made first time professions of faith.

All of the people who came to the medical clinic were given a booklet with the Bible stories and gospel that is shared at the spiritual truth station. Walking around the village, there are several groups gathered around to listen to someone read and re-read these stories of life.

Indeed it was a magical afternoon in the village. God not only touched the lives of several people in the village with the gospel, He also touched the hearts of four of His children from Brookwood. When you are on mission with God, He will do amazing things in you and through you!

God will continue to change the hearts and lives of short-term volunteers as they see first-hand the joy of sharing the words of life with people who have never before heard the name of Jesus.

The gospel seeds sown in this Cambodian village will spread like wildfire throughout the surrounding villages.
