Clueless about Love

“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19, NIV.

We had a Valentine's Day party with snacks, games, and a discussion about what love is all about.  After it was over, I was straightening a few things up and Tig*, a man who has been harassing believers, approached me. I have to admit, my heart sank in anticipation of what Tig might say in response to the Christian view of love.

Tig said, “I have nothing to say about love.”

He couldn’t think of a single family story or quote from any book he had ever read. He had a completely blank look on his face as he talked about it. The Lord softened my heart to Tig’s need as he spoke. He prides himself on being a devout follower of his religion, but he doesn’t know the love of Jesus. He doesn’t understand why the believers he’s verbally attacked and belittled continue to be kind to him. He is completely clueless about love.

Pray that:

God will open the eyes of believers to see the needs of the lost, even in those who are openly hostile to the gospel.

Jesus will teach Tig the meaning of love so that his life will be radically transformed.
