God Given Faith

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:44, NIV.

Ron* is a famous Muslim evangelist among his people. Several years ago he met a Western man named Tom in a village. Tom was trying to learn language, but he soon found himself debating faith with Ron. Tom lost the debate, but he won a friendship with Ron that has lasted to this very day.

At this point Ron’s superiors in the Islamic leadership of his people group have forbidden him to continue having debates against Tom. They told him, “You will lose your faith if you keep debating him.”

While Ron no longer debates publicly with Tom he does meet with him to study the Scriptures. Ron is open to learn the stories, but it is hard for him to turn away from Islam because of his notoriety within his old faith.

After one session of study Ron turned to Tom and said, “I believe this (the Bible) is God’s word. I believe it is true. But you can’t make me believe; only God can do that.”

Tom continues to pray for and share with his friend Ron. He trusts that at the right time God will give Ron the faith to believe.

Pray that:

God will give Ron faith to believe and courage to turn away from the notoriety he enjoys with Islam.

Tom will have power and anointing of the Holy Spirit as he shares the truth with Ron.
