Pacific Rim Prayer Requests: March 2006 PRAYER REQUESTS: When G came alone to hang out at a worker’s house, the timing was perfect. No one else was around, and G didn’t want to play as she normally did. After chatting, the conversation turned to her relationship with the Son. She answered that she knew him and that she would go to heaven. When the worker explained more about the Son and the Father, G quickly said that she believed it all and wanted to receive the Son into her heart. Pray that this new believer and many others like her will be rooted and grounded in the word of God and grow in Him. Franklin Graham’s first time Asian event, the “There is Hope” Festival, was held in Manila last month. More than 317,600 people attended the four-night crusade. More importantly, 33,844 people responded to receive Jesus as their Savior. At a national leadership breakfast, Graham challenged President Arroyo and government officials to make a positive impact. Pray that the new believers will connect with Bible studies and churches for spiritual growth and discipleship. Pray for the government leaders even now as they have opportunity to practice making a positive impact and applying all that they heard in these crucial days of national crisis. (www.mmfgf.org) Pray for the Black and White Tai working in construction and factories on temporary work assignments in a neighboring country. A number have believed through the witness of the local church. Pray that they will have a good solid foundation in faith before returning to their native countries. The Indonesian church is undergoing trials and tribulations brought about by a growing trend of persecution. Many churches have been forced to shut their doors. A number of believers have been imprisoned for sharing their faith. Ask that the saints will persevere and grow in boldness, in faith, and in love. Ask that believers will not seek revenge but will leave room for God’s wrath. Flores is a beautiful yet untamed island in southeastern Indonesia. Most of the 1.4 million people on the island are listed as “Roman Catholic,” but in practice the primary religion is animism. The peoples of Flores are famous for their ritualistic fighting dances to appease the ancestral spirits with blood sacrifices. With no current mission work on the island, ask that God will send laborers to Flores. Ask that the people will come to know that Jesus is the once-for-all sacrifice for sin. Praise God for four new house churches in Greater Tokyo since January and one in Tasmania. Pray for the salvation of the lost attending and for the successful implantation of CPM DNA. There is discouragement among one group and a temporary leadership void in another. However, key members are showing tremendous spiritual hunger and growth. Pray that these groups will continue to grow and multiply. Pray for a new church to be started in rural Yachimata, Japan where Mrs. Sugi was saved in February. Pray for Mrs. Se and E as they disciple her and share the vision for spreading the gospel to the entire city and prefecture. Pray that Mrs. Sugi’s faith will grow strong and her commitment to Christ will be first priority. For a downloadable Acrobat file of this page: click here.
