Stroller Evangelism
“From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2, NIV. Tokyo, JAPAN. A smiley one year old, John Busby never met a person he didn’t like! John’s sunny disposition has opened many doors for IMB missionary and mommy Mie Busby to share the gospel. “There are many places for moms to take their babies in Tokyo,” said Mie. “These baby friendly places are not typical in most large Japanese cities, but I see it as an open door to meet people and share my faith.” Mie finds that most of the moms are willing to listen to her testimony. While many state that they are not interested, they still listen and are not hostile to the gospel. Mie believes that the seeds she is planting will bear fruit with time. One mom heard Mie’s testimony and invited her home. While she is not a believer, her husband had been baptized as a child. The husband is not currently walking with God, but his decision has given the wife boldness to consider the gospel. Mie is praying that God will use this growing relationship to bring the husband back to the Lord and bring the wife to faith in Jesus. Mie has learned that being John’s mommy has helped her to be a more effective missionary. Stroller evangelism is one of the ways that the people of Tokyo are hearing the gospel. Pray that: God will use Mie’s testimony to bring many Tokyo moms to faith in Jesus. These new believers will be bold to share Christ with their families and churches will start as a result.
