She loves to sing to her Jesus . . .Songs for My God

“I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.” Psalm 13:6, NIV.

Boon Mee had no hope. Her age and sickness left her unable to walk. Her children lived far away and hadn’t visited for years. Her husband left early every morning to tend water buffaloes and did not return until late every evening. He worked even though at his age he should stay home and rest. Boon Mee’s only friend was a mentally ill lady who faithfully came every day to sit with her and help her with errands.

One day in June, Boon Mee heard about God and His love for her through a missionary who brought a team to prayerwalk in her village. This was the first time she had heard the gospel, and she was unsure about receiving Christ’s love. The Southern Baptist volunteers left gospel tracts and a Bible for her. She read them again and again. The stories in the tracts became so real to her that she decided to pray to accept Christ following the guide in the gospel tract. She also started reading the Bible.

On a follow up visit, she told the missionaries that she had already prayed to accept Jesus in her heart. She asked for praise songs, because she was already reading the Bible and praying, but she didn’t know any songs to sing to her God.

On the third visit, the missionaries gave Boon Mee a cassette tape with praise songs. Despite her physical struggles, Boon Mee’s face was filled with joy. She had met the precious One, and He had restored her hope.

There are more than 369,000 Kui people living in Thailand. To learn more about the Kui visit: http://www.peopleteams.org/kuiadvocate/. A virtual prayer walk is also available by visiting this site: http://www.virtualprayerwalk.com/cities/thailand/thailand.htm. Click on Kui.

Pray that:

The gospel will continue to reach people like Boon Mee, who have never heard about Jesus’ love.

The Holy Spirit will go before missionaries and volunteers as they share the gospel in new Kui villages in Thailand.
