Challenging Insight

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12, NIV.

Ben grew up in a Muslim family in a Muslim culture. He started studying the Bible after attending an ESL (English as a Second Language) class led by a Southern Baptist English teacher living in Indonesia . He never made a decision to follow Jesus, and he eventually moved to another province to work as a translator.

When Ben returned, the first thing he wanted to do was to study the Bible again. He has now joined a Bible study with Indonesian guys from a Christian background, and Ben is challenging many of their misconceptions and preconceived ideas. 

A "Christian" student asked a question about those who have never heard about Jesus. He thought that they must go to heaven. The group looked up verses that clearly explain Jesus is the only way of salvation. They were then asked to read the first few chapters of Romans for another very clear explanation. 

Ben stood up and said, “It’s our responsibility to tell those people the Truth, and we will be guilty of not obeying God if we don't.”

What great insight from a guy who may not even be saved himself!

Ben will act on his God given insights and decide to follow Jesus.

Ben’s presence in class will challenge the cultural Christians to be bold in their witness.
