The Shining White Man

"Four days ago at this hour, at three in the afternoon, I was praying in my house. Just then a man in a dazzling robe stood before me..." Acts 10:30, HCSB.

Sunny* is a follower of Jesus from a Muslim people group in Southeast Asia. When she is accused of being a Christian, she says, “Religion will never save you. Only Jesus can save you and you need to follow Him too.”

Like so many Muslim people, Sunny to faith in Jesus as a result of a dream and first hand encounter with Christ in her life. Sunny had a medical problem; a blood clot in the back of her skull was causing blinding headaches. Doctors had given her medicine, which she had dutifully taken for several months with little effect. Her doctor told her that she should not expect to live beyond 40 years old.

Shortly after that interview Sunny had her first dream. A shining white man poured cold water over her head and said, “You are healed of your sickness.” When Sunny awoke she told her husband that she thought the shining man was Jesus. The husband, who was also Muslim, agreed that it must be so.

At her next doctor’s appointment, she discovered that the blood clot was completely gone. The doctor could give no logical explanation, but Sunny knew what had happened, and she decided to follow Jesus.

In another dream Sunny met the shining man again. He told her to get up and follow Him and to bring her daughter. As they followed Jesus, Sunny turned and saw multitudes that she did not know following Him also.  Jesus took them into a beautiful field of flowers in fragrant bloom.

He said, “This is for you and your daughter.”

Sunny replied, “But Lord, what about my husband?”

Jesus said, “Later.”

Sunny believes that her second dream is a promise from Jesus to save her husband and her people. In response, she witnesses boldly and leads small groups to study the scriptures in her home.

Pray that:

Sunny will continue to be a bold witness to her people.

Sunny’s husband will follow Jesus.

Rapidly reproducing churches will come about in Sunny’s people group just as Jesus promised.
